側頭筋膜の補強として薄切軟骨を併用した82耳（ 軟骨併用例 ）と側頭筋膜を単独で使用した51耳（ 筋膜例 ）とで鼓膜穿孔閉鎖率・伝音再建後の術後聴力成績判定基準 ( 2010 )1) での成功率を比較した. また鼓膜穿孔閉鎖が得られた121耳を対象に, 治癒までの日数の中央値・周波数別 ( 500Hz・1000Hz・2000Hz・4000Hz ) の術後気骨導差の平均値を軟骨併用例79耳・筋膜例42耳で比較した. 鼓膜穿孔閉鎖率は, 軟骨併用例（ 96％ ）が筋膜例（ 82％ ）より有意に高く, 治癒までの日数も軟骨併用例 ( 中央値50日 ) で筋膜例 ( 中央値70日 ) より有意に短かった. また, 伝音再建後の術後聴力成績判定基準での成功率は軟骨併用例（ 88％ ）・筋膜例（ 92％ ）とで有意差はなく, 周波数別の術後気骨導差の平均値も軟骨併用例と筋膜例とで何れの周波数でも有意差を認めなかった. 形態学的成功（ 鼓膜穿孔閉鎖 ）は軟骨併用例で有意に優れ, 機能的成功（ 聴力改善 ）は軟骨併用例と筋膜例とで同等であり,
